The Sierra Nevada Region

The Sierra Nevada stretches approximately 450 miles from the Tehachapi Mountains on the south to Lassen National Park on the north. Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Yosemite National Parks are popular tourist attractions and feature some of the most beautiful terrain on Earth. Lake Tahoe’s beauty is breathtaking and is truly the region’s “crowning jewel”.

The Inn at Furnace Creek, Death Valley

Bridgeport is an historic town located in a beautiful valley in the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountains of Eastern California. Known for its history and proximity to Bodie State Historic Park, one of the only remaining preserved ghost towns, it offers recreational activities during the summer and fall months. This charming and welcoming town is loved by many visitors each year and is a destination for its Fourth of July events! The rodeo and fireworks are renowned, the parade is one of the longest-running and consecutive in the country, and there is a Street Fair with local vendors. Locals and visitors look forward to these events all year. The beautiful surroundings and proximity to Lake Tahoe, Reno, Mammoth Lakes, June Lake and other well-known Sierra resort areas make it a base for your summer activities. Explore Aurora, once thought to be the County Seat until it was discovered that it is located in Nevada, Masonic and other historic nearby areas. Fish, hike, explore or enjoy the nearby hot springs. Twin Lakes is a spectacularly beautiful summer vacation area in the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Located just 13 miles from Bridgeport, and at the base of the Sawtooth Ridge, where families have made it their summer destination for many generations. It is a uniquely beautiful area. It features two resorts: Annett’s Mono Village, which is located at the end of Twin Lakes Road. They offer camping for more than 300 RVs trailers, comfortable cabins, a store, café and outdoor concerts throughout the season. The season typically runs from Fishing Opener, the last weekend of April, until October 31st. The largest, record winning, trout ever caught in California was caught in Upper Twin Lake! It weighed more than 26 pounds! Twin Lakes Estates was sub-divided in the 1950s by the Annett family and has offered the opportunity for those who appreciate the area to enjoy summer living ever since. There is also a Lower Twin Lakes Resort which offers cabins, RV camping and an amazing fishing experience. There is a store, deli and marina. This is a very friendly, owner-operated resort, where everyone will feel welcomed. Enjoy world-class fishing, hiking, exploring, or just relax and take in the amazing views! Death Valley National Park, the lowest point in the U.S., lies just to the east of the Sierra Nevada. All four seasons are celebrated here with abundant snowfall in winter, an array of flowers and thawing creeks in spring, cool days and the crimson colors of fall, and summer with its endless possibilities for recreation and enjoyment.

Mammoth and June Mountains offer some of the best winter sports opportunities in the world.
